Gas Industry Competence and Education Centre

The two-year joint project of the Gas Association in BiH (GAS BiH), the German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water (DVGW) and the Research and Development Centre for Gas Technology (IGT), financially supported by the German Ministry for Scientific and Technical Cooperation (BMZ), resulted in the establishment of the Gas Industry Competence and Education Centre, authorized by the DVGW and Gas Wärme Institute (GWI) from FR Germany.

Within this two-year project, on the basis of DVGW and GWI educational literature, a selection of reading material was made and translated into the Bosnian language, so that the literature for trainer education covered, in addition to the DVGW technical rules and EN Standards, over 1.500 pages of additional literature, as well as a large number of presentations and video clips. The lectures were organized in 8 weekly cycles, where the speakers on the seminars were prominent gas industry experts who provide training within the joint programmes of DVGW and GWI Institute in FR Germany. The education has been completed by 14 trainers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who will share their new knowledge and experience, acquired within the project since September 2006, with the attendants of regular courses organized by IGT.
